horizons

A small working library for thinking about the world in 2050. Seeded by BCG’s Beyond Tomorrow: Four Scenarios for the World of 2050 (Apr 2026), then deliberately diversified.

The goal is not a forecast. It’s a map of where the smart, confident, well-resourced forecasters disagree — because that’s the load-bearing uncertainty.

Files

  • seed.md — BCG’s four scenarios, distilled with their numbers.
  • voices.md — fifteen other perspectives, one paragraph each. Institutional, technologist, demographer, climate, contrarian.
  • synthesis.md — what they agree on, where they split, what BCG’s frame omits, candidate axes for thinking through scenarios that aren’t on the menu yet.
  • sources/ — raw HTMLs, PDFs, and short digests for sources whose servers blocked direct fetch. See sources/SOURCES.md.

How to use

Read in order. Don’t trust any one of them. Notice which numbers move together across forecasts and which don’t — the ones that don’t are doing real work.
